Skins Institute, spa at Hotel de l’Europe
In 2014, Skins Institute, a multi-disciplinary specialised centre in the field of skincare, is invited to realise a complete Spa & Wellness Centre in the 5-star Hotel de l’Europe in Amsterdam.
Carte Blanche
Hotel de l’Europe, one of the most iconic 5-star hotels in the Netherlands, is known by all. The hotel has as many as 111 rooms, star restaurant ‘Flore’, brasserie ‘Marie’, trattoria ‘Graziella’, bookstore ‘Mendo’s’, top florist ‘De Wunderkammer’, ‘Het Huys’ suites and the legendary ‘Freddy’s Bar’, named after the late owner Freddy Heineken. In order to offer guests a total experience, the basement will be completely transformed into a next level Spa & Wellness.

Colonnade

The backbone of the Spa is formed by a corridor of pillars clad in gold-coloured tiles.

The swimming pool

The colonnade creates a natural divide between the pool and the reception area. It is our aim to have the visitors experience a sense of luxury and glamour.

Relaxing in peace and quiet

The comfortable relax area offers a space to become completely relaxed. The mood here is more earthy and demure.

Treatment rooms, single or double

The mobile wall between the treatment rooms allows for duo-treatments. By removing the mobile wall, guests are able to enjoy treatments together.

The client’s wish
To offer our guests a high-class total experience, we want a luxurious Spa & Wellness in our hotel. Besides our beautiful and comfortable rooms, our star restaurant, our casual brasserie and legendary bar named after the former owner Freddy Heineken, guests will be able to be completely relaxed and recharge. We would also like to offer our guests a wide range of beauty and wellness treatments.
Ideas
The light and bright reception area has a glamorous style which suites the beautiful building. When moving to the treatment rooms, a more earthy and subdued feel is opted for. Soft lighting and everything oozes luxury and calmness.
