Skins Cosmetics started in the 9 straatjes shopping area, the ‘Most funky shopping area in town’.
A butcher’s shop in the 9 straatjes shopping district in the heart of Amsterdam. A small stairwell ushers you upstairs to where the butcher lived, while another staircase brings you down to a low-ceiling basement, which was home to the freezers.
WISHES OF THE CLIENT
We import the most exclusive niche brands in perfumes and skincare products. Our sales are going well and we are ready for the next phase. We want to create a professional look & feel that fits our profile with this newly acquired property.
A shop design has a supporting role. It serves as a stage for the sales consultants who want to tell customers about their merchandise. Every brand, especially at Skins, has its own unique ‘Heritage’. Let’s design displays that bring out each ‘individual story’.
The upstairs rooms were demolished, the floor partially removed and raised by 50 cm. This incorporated the cellar into the space which was then enlarged. The result was 200 m2 of usable sales space spread over several floors.
ON THE RISE
Skins´ products, service and vibe are so much appreciated that its formula is growing fast. Not every space is suitable though. The public and the premises need to be receptive to the Skins concept. In the Netherlands, shops will be opened in Laren, Rotterdam, The Hague, Breda, Oisterwijk, Groningen, Oosterbeek, the Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam and the Hotel De L’Europe Amsterdam. Internationally, Skins will open a shop in Ibiza.
